South Florida Neuropsychology is a full-service neuropsychology and psychology practice dedicated to providing comprehensive consultation, evaluation and intervention services that integrate research-based knowledge, state-of-the art clinical assessment tools and practical “real world” interventions. Referrals for evaluation and/or treatment from patients themselves or individuals such as neurologists, family physicians, psychiatrists; psychologists internists, family physicians, attorneys, workers; compensation case managers, school administrators, and parents are addressed promptly and professionally.




Clinical Neuropsychology

South Florida Neuropsychology provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to assess patients’ cognitive and psychological status in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning for people with cognitive difficulties (e.g., memory, attention, reasoning, language, etc.) due to conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, mild cognitive impairment, vascular dementia, Huntington’s disease, Cerebrovascular accident (stroke or TIA), or traumatic brain injury.

Forensic Neuropsychology

Dr. Steven M. Essig, J.D., Psy.D. director of South Florida Neuropsychology and a former litigation attorney, conducts comprehensive forensic neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive and psychological functioning in both civil and criminal litigation as well as for estate planning matters.


Psychoeducational Testing

South Florida Neuropsychology provides assessment of children and adults for Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), and Gifted status useful in obtaining appropriate services and accommodations and in making treatment decisions.


South Florida Neuropsychology specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral psychotherapy (also referred to as “problem-solving therapy” or “how-to therapy”) to assist patients in dealing with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety, adjustment problems, stress-related problems, relationship difficulties, weight management, grief, and poor self esteem.
